Outreach

The Nathan Group and its members are keen to showcase the opportunities afforded by a career in science. We offer lab tours for sixth form groups, visits to local schools, and have hosted students for work experience. If you are a student or teacher interested in finding out more about our outreach work, please email awm37@cam.ac.uk.

Many thanks to both you and your colleagues for giving up your time to show our students around the JCBC today, it was very interesting and inspiring to see the work that you all do and to actually look at HeLa cells under the microscope! You have given much 'food for thought' to our students for both their career aims and their insight into a busy research laboratory.- Sixth Form Biology Teacher (Cambridge)
Just wanted to say a formal thank you for the visits yesterday. I appreciate it took up a large amount of your time on the day, and in the planning. I have been on many such visits over the years and I would certainly say that your event was right up there with the best. Some institutions just do a lab tour, which is literally walking students around labs telling them what goes on. But the fact that you actually showed the students various things (equipment, samples), allowed them to look at HeLa cells, had a discussion with other scientists, and then sent over the papers for them to discuss with you made the whole event very special.- Sixth Form Biology Teacher (Cambridge)
